For the works relating to the oceanic port of Sines, a 2,000 m long protective dam of the port basin was built in antifer rocks and whose foundations reach a depth of 50 m.

Furthermore, 3 berths were created for oil tankers of up to 500,000 tons, two piers for 100,000-ton oil tankers, a gas loading dock for 10,000-ton ships and a petrochemical terminal consisting of two berths.
