The works consisted mainly in the protection of the walls from ascending capillary humidity by inserting a plastic covered lead plate into a crevice cut into the walls a few centimetres above the floor at ground level and successive sealing of the joint. The restoration of the structural members was accomplished incrementally, repairing one small section before passing to the next. Sheathed steel strand anchors were applied to the horizontal structural members before proceeding to the reinforcement of the wooden beams with layers of carbolineum, while some of the beams were entirely replaced.

Finally, all technological systems were upgraded to actual legislative standards.
