The Ayla Oasis Project is a tourism development project on the Red Sea, in Jordan, along 235 meters of coastline on the Gulf of Aqaba and with a total area of 430 hectares. Started in 2008, it develops in several phases over a period of 12 years. It includes the construction of hotels, apartments and villas, a golf course and a built-up area with a marina and recreational infrastructure around three artificial lagoons. The lagoons, which occupy an area of approximately 757,000 square metres, develop from the coast inwards with increasing heights. They will be connected to the sea with an access canal and delimited by artificial walls and specially created beaches. A number of canals and artificial waterfalls will connect the three lagoons.
