Concession contract (24 years) for the design, construction and management of the new
Vimercate hospital, with 520 beds and a surface area of 113,841 m2. Mario Botta’s particular
architectural concept places the wards in the so-called “petals”, thus offering a pleasant and
relaxing environment to patients, visitors and staff. The technological block that houses the
diagnosis and treatment areas is located in the centre of the hospital. The premises are
equipped with parking for 1,400 cars and 3 trigeneration systems of 2,000 kWe each, capable of ensuring total coverage of the hospital’s energy needs. Management activities include various services, comprising: maintenance of the premises, heat management, catering, cleaning, exploitation of commercial areas and car parks.
